MAC Cosmetics, which stands for Makeup Art Cosmetics, is a Canadian brand founded in Toronto in 1984. Originally intended to be used by professional makeup artists, MAC Cosmetics soon became popular with consumers around the world, expanding to over 100 stores globally by the 1990s.
